David Cook Obituary

David L. Cook, 60, of Bear Rocks, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Latrobe Hospital. Mr. Cook was born Sept. 6, 1964, in Mt. Pleasant, to the late Delmar and Rita Johnston Cook. Dave was a graduate of Southmoreland High School's class of 1983. He worked for Levin Furniture for over 19 years. Dave played bass for several bands over the years, most recently for 'Part Time Cowboys.' Dave was an excellent woodworker and would set up a booth at the local Renaissance Festival selling his famous walking sticks. He enjoyed being outdoors, camping, hiking, kayaking, and, most importantly, spending time with his grandchildren. Dave is survived by his loving family, his significant other, Sherry Harrison; his daughters, Brandi Potoka (Kenny) and Brittany Cook; and his grandchildren, Megan Potoka, Kennedy Stevenson, Mason Potoka, and Jordyn Stevenson. He is also survived by his brothers, Douglas Cook (Debra), Donald Cook (Misty), and Dennis Cook (Darlene); his sister-in-law, Joanne Cook; the mother of his children, Debora Cook; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his brother, Delmar 'Butch' Cook. In honoring Dave's wishes, there will be no viewing or services. All arrangements have been entrusted to GALONE-CARUSO FUNERAL HOME INC., Mt. Pleasant. To offer an online condolence, please visit our website at www.galone-carusofuneralhome.com.

My most heartfelt condolences go out to Dave´s entire family and friends...which were many! From the Bass drum to the Bass guitar I´ll never forget our musical experience together! I always enjoyed watching "Squatch" wrestle. The world lost a good soul. Prayers my friend.
