David Crane Obituary
David Anthony Crane, 70, of Southgate passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026 in the comforts of home with loved ones at his side.
Dave was born in Detroit, Michigan and grew up in Southgate. He was born into a large Catholic family as the eldest son of twelve children. Dave graduated from Aquinas High School in 1973. He enjoyed traveling with his life partner, Dave to Las Vegas, Nevada to see their favorite performer, Cher. He had an eye for style, which included his love of decorating. Dave also enjoyed spending time with his loved circle of family and friends, where he was most comfortable and truly himself. He retired after 30 years of dedicated service with Henry Ford Hospital as an operator.
He was the devoted and adoring life partner of the late David G Wery (2008), loving father of Melissa Leitheim and Amber Crane (Patrick)and dearest grandfather of Jaden Leitheim and Mason Felice. Dave was a wonderful Dog Dad to Gizmo.
Dave was the son of the late Thomas and Rose Ann (Pfluge) Crane, dear brother of the late Carolyn Crane, Theresa (Bruce) Chapman, Mary (Howard) Beck, the late Karen (and the late James) Mulcahy, Patrick (Terri) Crane, Thomas (Barbara) Crane, Timothy (Pamela) Crane, Rose (Chris) Jaciuk, Robert (Sheryl) Crane, Sharon (George) Rodery, Richard (Karen) Crane, and Diane (Nicholas) Horiatis.
Dave will be laid to rest in peace at Our Lady of Hope in Brownstown Township, Michigan.
