David Crawford Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bunnell Funeral Home Inc - Millville on Nov. 16, 2023.
David C. Crawford, 74, of Benton PA passed away peacefully at his home on November 15, with his wife Shelley by his side. David was born on January 25, 1949. He was the son of the late Harold Dale and Emily (Crossley) Crawford of Bloomsburg. He was preceded in death by his brother Tom Crawford.
David was a 1966 graduate of Central Columbia High School and a 1983 graduate of Bloomsburg College with a degree in education. Dave's first teaching position was in fourth grade at Millville Elementary School. He then worked at Danville Middle School as a math teacher and technology teacher. Dave had a passion for teaching and was much loved by all of the students whose lives he touched. One of his proudest accomplishments was the development of a live daily TV program at the Danville Middle School totally run by students.
Dave was an avid golfer. He loved restoring old VW autos and had amassed quite a collection. Dave enjoyed camping, travel, music, fishing with his father-in-law, Sherwood, in Minnesota, and most of all, spending time with family. Dave was known as the guy who could fix anything!
Surviving are: sister Connie Gardner (Gary) of Millville PA, brother Tom Anderson of International Falls, MN, brother Larry Diamond (Susan) of Lakeview, MN, sister Jill Kiner of Ray, MN, daughter Lisa Storer (Denise – partner) of Winfield PA, son Kyle Crawford (Kathy) of Lincoln University PA, son Casey Oxley of Trumansburg, NY, daughter Sarah Oxley (Shannon – partner) of Houston, TX, and 9 grandchildren: Sydney, Logan, Grace, Jackson, Adam, Noah, Lillian, Samuel, and Eleanor.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Innocence Project – www.innocenceproject.org, or your local food bank. Dave was committed to both of these organizations.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Dave's life on Sunday November 26, 2023, from noon until 3:00 pm at the Bunnell Funeral Home Inc., 179 E. Main St., Millville. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
