In memory of
Glen EveLyn
March 27, 2021
It was a pleasure knowing him. We both were born in New Jersey and ran track. I met him at Kenwood Country Club in Bethesda, MD. I had the pleasure of training two of his step sons. I will surely miss talking track with him.
May God rest his soul.

I would like to say that David and I were really track people. Since we both came from New Jersey, we had a thing for the sport that we Loved. I had the pleasure of training his two step sons.
God Bless David run those highs in your next life.

David will always be an important part of my memories of Cragsmoor, especially the many fun hikes we took. His children and nieces and nephews called him "Spearhead" because he was such an enthusiastic organizer and leader of our expeditions. Cragsmoor was dear to his heart, and because of his generosity and efforts at preservation, it has remained largely unchanged through the years. We are grateful.
He had tremendous love and pride for his wife, Elie, and his 5 children. He said that when he married Ellie he thought that was the greatest thing in the world, and then when his first child was born, that was the greatest thing. He also enjoyed his extended family in Cragsmoor, livening up family occasions with his good spirits and entertaining conversation. We will miss him.
We send our love and sympathy to Ellie and their children.

Much love and condolences to Amy, Ellie, Leslie, Polly and Hattie. I still have many fond memories of our times together in Cragsmoor, Bethesda, and San Diego. It was great to be a part of the Croyder family. David always made me feel welcome and laughed at my off-color jokes. The stories he told and his sense of humor always carried the day. Who can forget his "toast" at our rehearsal dinner at Army-Navy CC!

Thinking of David, I think of a quick, lively look, then an impish grin quick to spread over his face. David's keen interest in all things - historic and living - filled his life and affected all others who were a part of it. David and his wife, my dear sister Ellie, and their family, are an inseparable part of my memories of family life with my husband Byron and our children. David and By shared a love of history and all things intellectual, and a sense of humor too. not to mention a lively sports competition! David and Ellie were generous with their love of adventure and travel, which included travels throughout the globe. David equally loved the world around him right at home, "spearheading" the conservation efforts that have preserved areas of the Shawangunk mountaintop that would have otherwise fallen to development and been lost to future generations.

Almost 60 years ago, I was invited to join a little group led by David to hike from Lake Maratanza near Sam's Point to Lake Awosting. This opened my eyes to more of what there was to Cragsmoor and the Shawangunk Mountains. I didn't know him well, but I am forever thankful for this experience and his work to save Bear Hill and Sam's Point.

So sorry to hear about Mr. C. I have so many fond memories of Mr. Croyder. The most memorable story was Mr. Croyder was comparing a boxer to a wrestler, at the time Randy Anderson also a great friend of Mr. C's lamented you don't know that a wrestler can beat a boxer which Mr. C said well Randy you do know. With his dry wit and and quick humor he was one of the guys. He was also the smartest guy in the room. I will miss him.
