Curtis, David F. – of Millington, age 77, passed away Friday, July 26, 2024, surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Friday, August 2, 2024, at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run. Burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Pastor Timothy McKenzie to officiate. The family will receive visitors on Thursday at the funeral home from 2PM until 8PM and on Friday from 10AM until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice.
David was born July 1, 1947, in Clio, Michigan, to the late Fordson and Wilma (Palmer) Curtis. David went into the U.S Army and served his county from 1965-1968 in Germany. Upon returning home he met Diana Mangold and was married December 6, 1969, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Birch Run. David worked as a Millwright at General Motors until his retirement in 1999. An avid outdoorsman, he cherished fishing trips and hunting expeditions with his brother Dwight and friend Sonny Minar. He and Diana shared a love for travel, exploring destinations like Hawaii, Alaska, Florida, Texas, and Vegas over the years. Above all, David's greatest joy was his family. He took immense pride in watching his grandchildren participate in sports, always offering them unwavering support and encouragement.
Surviving are: Loving Wife of 55 years, Diana Curtis; Daughter, Lana (James) Steenbergh; Son, Gregory Curtis; Grandchildren: Alesha (Edwin) Benkert, Julie (Jesse) Steenbergh, Logan and Megan Curtis; Special great grandson, Joel Malone Benkert who shares a birthday with David; 3 Brothers: Darrell, Dwight, and Dale Curtis; Sister, Rita Alexander; Many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. David was preceded in death by his Parents, Sisters: Marjorie Jewell, Gloria Schmeisser, and Rosalind Carl.
