David Dahlin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hansen Family Funeral and Cremation Services - Green Bay on Dec. 23, 2025.
David G Dahlin, 75, passed away on December 23, 2025 at home.

Dave was born to the late Bernard "Dutch" and Edestein (Jantz) Dahlin on September 3, 1950, in Green Bay, the youngest of three boys. He graduated from Green Bay West High in 1968. While at West, Dave excelled in sports, playing nose tackle on the football team, center on the basketball team, and throwing discus in track & field. Following graduation, he attended UW-Stevens Point before enlisting in the Army. Dave served six years in the National Guard and Army Reserve before being honorably discharged as sergeant first-class.

Dave's work ethic started at a young age, beginning with a lawn mowing business and working on construction jobs from the age of twelve. Post-college, Dave's first step in his career was as a national sales rep for Beatrice Foods, based out of Covington, KY. After being joined in marriage to Jacque Conners in 1970, they moved to Kentucky. Dave enjoyed the traveling and this position, but when his daughter was born, his priority shifted, and he wanted to be home more than often. The family moved back to Green Bay and Dave began working in sales at Green Bay Food Co. until taking a sales and product manager position at Amerhart, Ltd. After ten years at Amerhart, Dave ventured out on his own and purchased D&S Printing Co. in downtown Green Bay. This was truly a family business with Tracy and Forrest working alongside their parents, learning how to work hard and that nothing is ever "good enough;" it's either an A or it's a failure. Following 18 years of successful entrepreneurship, Dave received an offer for the business that was too good to pass up, and a subsequent offer to return to Amerhart. He retired from Amerhart in 2016 after another fourteen-year run with the company. During this time, he engineered floors, roofs, tall walls, barns, and commercial buildings. Dave also developed and patented what is now known as Mega Spacer, used in laminated columns for pole buildings, in the construction industry.

One of Dave's many quotes was, "Work is what you have to do, in order to afford the things you want to do." When he wasn't working, Dave spent a lot of time at the family cottage near Crivitz. The family enjoyed many weekends at the cottage learning to shoot and drive the boat; cruising through the trails on mini-bikes, 3-wheelers, 4-wheelers, golf cart and Gator; waterskiing; building campfires; and enjoying the outdoors. Dave's dad began the tradition of planting trees every spring and Dave continued this tradition with his kids and oldest grandson. Dave loved to fish, hunt, shoot, and tinker in the garage. He could fix anything and built everything with precision.

Dave's family was most important to him. He followed the motto "God, Family, Country" throughout his life and demonstrated these values every day.

Dave is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Tom Lemerande and their children Conner (Sophia) Hakenjos, Everett (fiancé Courtney Rustad) Lemerande and Hope Lemerande; son and daughter-in-law, Forrest and Katheren Dahlin; brother Gene (Carol) Dahlin; sisters-in-law, Alyce Dahlin and Peggy (Tom) Ronk; special family John and Rebecca Klein and their children, Sarah, Gavin, Kate, Hannah, and Matthew, currently of Fort Lee, VA; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends further survive.

Besides his wife, Dave was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bernie Dahlin, niece Francie Dahlin, and in-laws Vernon and Carol Conners.

Gathering of family and friends will be held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 9:00am until the time of the service. Funeral service will begin at 11:30am with the Rev. Barbara Ristow officiating. Military honors to follow.

Dave's family extends a special thank you to all those who were there to help during the past few years, especially nephew Brian and Amy Dahlin, sister-in-law Peggy and Tom Ronk, niece Kristin and Adam Kuss, neighbors Sherry & Randy Ruby, friends Tom & Andrea Geltz, caregiver Lori VanEyck, and many others who were so willing to lend a helping hand.

The family asks that no flowers be sent; a memorial fund is being established.

Hansen Family Funeral Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.

My friend Bob and I were privileged to bring Holy Communion and prayers to both Dave and Jacquie at Angel's Touch where Dave lovingly visited Jacquie every morning. He and Jacquie were an inspiration as the love they shared was so obvious to all. Bob and I are grateful to God for having k own this precious couple.

So sorry for your loss. This time of year makes it even harder. Jerry worked with Dave at Amerhart for many years with Dave. He was a very nice man. I cleaned Amerhart for few years with my dad who was 80 at the time and Dave would always take time to talk with him. He was a very kind man. Cherish your memories and know you will be in our thoughts and prayers. Jerry and Debbie Schmit
