David Frank Dalhaus (1959–2024)

David was the hardest working man most of us knew. Everything was a competition for David, and he was driven to figure out how to challenge himself to be the best. He was a powerhouse of masculinity and humor. His commitment to his wife and family was unmatched, and his work ethic was unquestionable. He always had something he needed to do--slowing down just long enough to eat something sweet. He always had a witty quote from one of his favorite movies loaded and ready to make everyone laugh at a moment’s notice. David would find a friend anywhere he went and would easily strike up a conversation with anyone he didn’t know. He had a witty nature, and his unfiltered comments made it fun to be out in public with him. David was also known by many names, his friends called him Double D (DD), father called him Cowboy, and his CB friends called him DILLIGAF. 

David Frank Dalhaus, 65, of Spring, TX died September 15th in the Woodlands TX of natural causes. 

He was born in Pasadena, TX in 1959 to Micheal Dalhaus and Elsie Dalhaus. 

A few things about David’s life:

SPOUSE – Bonnie Dalhaus met the love of her life David Dalhaus in 2003. They met for a motorcycle ride and little did they know that this was the day they found the love of their lives. Excited to start their new journey together, the two were married in 2009 at Ben and Julie Rojas home in Cut and Shoot Texas 

GRANDCHILDREN – Though he loved hunting and fishing, David’s favorite role was that as a grandparent. He treasured his time with his grandkids and loved being their Paw Paw, never failing to bring them fishing and playing video games with them 

PETS – David had a few special pets like Butchy and Brandy, but his latest love was a small Chihuahua named Sugar. Sugar would leap into his arms when he came home from work every day to greet him

JOB – David was passionate about being in the marine industry. He began working on a tugboat with his dad and moved on to scheduling marine traffic later in his life. He was also an engineer in the hospitality industry for over 15 years

HOBBIES – Everyone who knew David knew how much he loved hunting, fishing, camping and talking to other people all over the world on his CB Radio

David had so many friends from so many places with diverse backgrounds that he will be remembered uniquely by everyone in their own way. We could not have asked for a better friend and will miss David every day. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him. 

David was preceded in death by his daughter Tracy Dalhaus, Father Micheal Dalhaus, and brothers Clifton Dalhaus, and Randy Dalhaus. 

David is survived by his mother Elsie Dalhaus, wife Bonnie Dalhaus of 21 years, daughters Stephani Dalhaus (Eric Brown), Haley McCorkle (Husband Andrew), Brittany Clark (Bobby Deutsch), Angel Bargas, sisters Julie Rojas (husband Ben), Pam Davis, and his six grandchildren: Anthony Adsit, Reagan Brown, Teagan Brown, Frank Cruze, Jeremiah Cruze, Drew McCorkle.

The celebration of David’s life will be held 9/27/24 at 10:00 am at Rios Funeral Home 122 Commercial Cir Conroe, TX 77304. Anyone interested can meet after the celebration at El Bosque at 1111 W Dallas St Conroe, TX 77304. In Lieu of flowers the family is requesting plants to acknowledge his love for gardening.
