DAVID MORRIS Obituary
ELLIS MORRIS, Jr.
June 28, 1943 - July 21, 2025
Daughter Cheri Morris McDonough, companion Carol Licini, and brother Walter Morris announce the passing of their beloved father, partner, and friend, David Ellis Morris, Jr., on July 21, 2025.
Born in Natchez, MS, to David Morris, Sr., Master of the Whitworth Hounds, and Fay Blick Morris-whose Papa Blick was a reputed riverboat gambler-Dave was a Santa Fe fixture for decades. He was a skilled artist and artisan, known for his beautiful tiles.
He got his quick wit and turn of phrase ("Dave-isms") from his mother, and his love for horses and animals from his father. He embraced both his Jewish ancestry and Christian upbringing and attended Temple Beth Shalom.
A funeral mass will be held at Holy Faith Episcopal Church on August 23 at 11:00 AM, with a reception in the hall to follow.
A donation to the animal rescue of your choice in his memory would be appreciated.

Ever since I met Dave many many years ago at Wolf Corporation I knew him as a kind and respectable gentleman. When he was my neighbor off of Rodeo Rd we had many conversations when he walked Lily and Natchez by our home. My family and I will miss you Dave.
