Services for Mr. David Glen Davis, 75, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Bartley Funeral Home, with Bro. David Crain officiating.

Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery.

David Davis passed away on January 21, 2026, in Tyler, Texas. He was born on July 28, 1950, in Grand Saline, Texas, to Richard Perry and Nettie Marie Orsbourne Davis.

David was a lifelong resident of Grand Saline and graduated from Grand Saline High School, Class of 1968. He went on to graduate from East Texas State University with his Bachelors in Business and later earned his MBA from the University of Texas at Tyler. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy Reserve. David was the sports reporter for the Grand Saline Sun and KMOO radio for many years. He was a math teacher and taught school throughout many East Texas school districts including Fruitvale, Grand Saline, Mabank, Lindale, and Mineola. He retired from Mineola ISD. David was a loving father who coached his children in baseball and was a huge Texas Longhorn fan!

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Barbara Davis.

Survivors include his son, Glen “Stu” Davis of Grand Saline; daughter, Hollie Moncrief and husband Ryan of Canton; brother, Larry Davis of Texarkana; sister, Shirley Grisham and husband Jon of Chapel Hill; three grandchildren, Azlyn Jane Davis, Brantly Ryan Moncrief, and David Hugh Moncrief; nephews, Greg Davis, and Phillip Grisham; nieces, Laura Jenkins, and Sheri Boyce; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Greg Davis, Phillip Grisham, Tommy Davis, Harry Clifford, Duane Carpenter, and Tracy Wood.

Honorary pallbearers will be Connie Tomlin, Jim Lea, Ferd Maciel, and Bobby Colacino.

Memorials may be made to the Grand Saline Youth Foundation, P.O. Box 27, Grand Saline, TX, 75140 or the Grand Saline Old School Museum, Ed Bailey, 14261 FM 17 Grand Saline TX 75140.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the funeral home.
