David P. Dehring, age 81 of Manitowoc, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at St. Vincent Hospital of Green Bay.
David was born on June 26, 1943 in Stevens Point, WI, son of the late Donald "David" and Leone (Urbans) Dehring. He graduated from Marquette University with the class of 1967 earning a Bachelor of Science degree as a Mechanical Engineer. On June 11, 1966 David married Pamela A. Balistierri at St. Florians Catholic Church, West Milwaukee. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Sheboygan Rifle and Pistol Club, NRA and ASME. He was a certified Hunter Safety Instructor, Cub Scout Master and Boy Scout Leader, member of the Order of the Arrow, and volunteer at Holy Family Memorial Hospital from 2009 – 2015 receiving the Prism Award in 2010 and 2012. He received the Manitowoc Citizen of the Year Award in 1999. David was a licensed professional mechanical engineer, and enjoyed a lengthy career including Allis Chalmers, Manitowoc Engineering, and Thomas Industries. He enjoyed shooting, hunting, fishing, gardening, reading, bible study, and his family.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pamela A. Dehring, Manitowoc; children: Carolyn (Matthew) Oleson, Inver Grove Heights, MN, Jane (Mike) Bosi, Schofield, WI, Tim (Julie) Dehring, West Bend, WI; ten grandchildren: Andrea and Luke Oleson, Ben, Maddie, Sophia, Dan, and Chloe Bosi, Sam, Max and Lily Dehring; brother: Rick (Joanne) Dehring, Mukwonago, WI, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: David and Leone Dehring; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Samuel C. and Regina A. (Jakubczak) Balistierri; grandparents, aunts, uncles and other relatives.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 8100 Brunner Road, Newton. Rev. David Beaudry will Celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with inurnment of his cremated remains to take place at Calvary Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of services at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Pink Heals of Manitowoc County, P.O. Box 1961,
Manitowoc, WI 54220 in David's name.
