David DeLay Obituary

David was born at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta GA. He lived most of his life in Smyrna GA and attended Campbell High School. He attended Georgia State College where he obtained his Bachelor's degree in Business. He and his family moved to Cumming GA in 1998 and loved it here.
David worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad for 33 years and also served as secretary for local IBEW 632 Union for many years.
David was drafted in the army during the Vietnam War where he served 4 years. He served some of his time stationed in Okinawa working on missiles.
David was a faithful member of Freedom Tabernacle for 24 years and he loved the Lord with his whole heart.
David was an avid bowler and bowled since he was 9 years old. During his retirement, he was part of a bowling league. He also enjoyed playing golf.
David's legacy lives on through his wife of 41 years, Sharon, as well as their children Jennifer Autry (Jermaine), Darlene Banikas (Bob), Donna Roxas, Michael Stewart (Naomi), Scot Stewart (Jennifer), 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
David's family will receive friends at Freedom Tabernacle in Cumming GA on Monday January 13, 2025 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The service will follow at 12:00 pm and will be officiated by Pastor Robbie Mathis. Pastor Jonathan Bennett will speak at the graveside service at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens following the funeral service.
