David Dillard Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Welch Funeral Home on Nov. 3, 2025.
David "Lynn" Dillard was born on September 12, 1954, in Smith County, TX, to William Jefferson Dillard and Ruth Dodd, and passed away on October 19, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Lynn grew up in Mineola, TX, with his siblings, Lee Dillard and Donna Sims, and attended Mineola High School before moving to Longview, TX, in 1996. Lynn worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 42 years, where he met many lifelong friends, before retiring in 2017.
In his free time, Lynn enjoyed watching football and basketball, cheering on the Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys, riding his motorcycle, cruising in his Corvette, and riding side-by-sides with his family.
Lynn is survived by his wife of 23 years, Beverly; his biological and stepchildren, whom he loved as his own; multiple grandchildren; and countless others who loved and cared for him.
Although his presence is no longer with us, the love so many have for him will carry on. Let us never forget the constant reminders of him-whether it's the sky you're looking at, the football game you're watching, or catching yourself say something you know Lynn would've had a remark about.
Always loved and never forgotten.
A Life Celebration Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at The Cammack Family - Welch Funeral Home.
