Savannah - David Diver, 93, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away on March 29, 2026. He was born on July 21,

1932, in Henrietta, New York, to Mae and Charles Diver.

David graduated with distinction from Cornell University in 1952 and earned a Master of Science

degree from Cornell University in 1954. While at Cornell, he met the love of his life, Carol Cobb, and

they shared 69 wonderful years of marriage. He proudly served his country in the United States Air

Force for 10 years, retiring with the rank of Captain.

David began his career in the produce industry in 1958. He worked for Kroger before joining

Hannaford Brothers, where he served from 1975 until his retirement in 1995 as Vice President of

Produce.

A devoted member of Skidaway Island Methodist Church, David volunteered with numerous church

and community organizations, including Habitat for Humanity and Backpack Buddies. Following

retirement, he shared his professional knowledge by writing articles for Produce Business. He

enjoyed playing bridge and was known for his love of evening ice cream.

David is survived by his loving wife, Carol Cobb Diver; his daughters, Diane Diver and her husband,

James Morris, of Savannah, Georgia, and Karen Diver McMann and her husband, Chris McMann,

of Lakewood Ranch, Florida.

His steady presence and gentle spirit will be deeply missed.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Skidaway Island Methodist
