David Malcolm Douglas was born January 26, 1984, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved son of the late David and Laretta Green Douglas. He departed this life on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at PRISMA Heath Richland Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.
David was educated in the public schools of Richland County. He was best known as "Malcolm" or "Hatch" by family and friends. An entrepreneur at heart, he was the owner of Casino Lifestyle.
Malcom believed in the possibilities of taking chances. He was a gambler at heart, and knew that sometimes you win, and sometimes you lose. Knowing his odds, he was always ready to take a chance, always believing that life could turn around with a little luck on his side.
Hatch also knew his way around the kitchen. Not only did he feed people, but he also fed their souls with his presence, with laughter, and with his positive energy.
Though he is no longer physically with us, he has left a legacy of love that will be remembered by all those who loved and knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Ruth Green; and niece, Payton Manning.
Those who are cherishing fond and precious memories of Malcom are his two loving sons, Shawn Anthony Brannon and Dillion Douglas; his loving and devoted sisters, Reka Corley and Kafi Manning; nephews, Daquan Manning and Kevin E. Corley; nieces, Javetta (Charles) McGriff, Shaniqua (Ryan) Moore and Skylar Frederick; uncles, Robert L. Green, James Green, Anthony (Deborah) Green; and his aunt, Vera Dunlap; a host of great nephews, and nieces; and Nikki Green who was not only his cousin, friend, and confidant, but his sister, with whom he spent many cherished moments; as well as a host of other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom mourn his untimely departure.
