Dave was called home by his Lord and Savior on Friday, April 12, 2024, at his home, with family at his side. David R. Duclos was born on September 17, 1948, in Saginaw, to the late Robert and Arloa (Wolderzak) Duclos. He was 75 years old. He married Bonnie Muehlfeld on November 23, 1974, at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church in Frankenmuth. She survives him. Dave is also survived by three sons and their spouses, Michael R. (Michelle) Duclos, Frankenmuth, John D. (Lisa) Duclos, Saginaw, and Brian R. (Becci) Duclos, Nolensville, TN; ten grandchildren, Christian, Nolan, Ashlyn, Justin, Stefan, Hayden, William, Colten, Carter, and Caroline; a brother, Randall J. Duclos; and one niece, Marie Duclos.
Dave earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from THE University of Michigan. He had worked over 50 years in the insurance business where he owned and operated the Duclos Insurance Agency.
He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Clio, and selflessly served on numerous boards in various capacities over several years in the community, the insurance industry, church and at Valley Lutheran High School.
Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc. 1218 N. Michigan Ave. on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to Noon and 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Private burial will be held in Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery, Saginaw. The Celebration of Dave's Life will take place 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 520 Butler St., Clio, Michigan, where the family may receive friends beginning at 12:30 p.m. The Rev. Erik Cloeter will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may consider donations to Valley Lutheran High School Foundation – Duclos Scholarship Fund, Messiah Lutheran Church or Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
