David Dudenhoeffer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Houser-Millard Funeral Directors - Jefferson City on Jan. 22, 2025.
David Isador Dudenhoeffer, age 79, of Frankenstein, Missouri, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2025. Born on November 21, 1945, in Frankenstein, Missouri, to the late Herbert and Anna (Troesser) Dudenhoeffer, David lived a life of hard work, love, and joy.
A 1964 graduate of Fatima High School, David's journey was marked by his devotion to family and his craftsmanship. On June 11, 1966, he married the love of his life, Diane Marie Mengwasser. Together, they built a life filled with shared memories and cherished moments.
David spent his career with G.W. Smith Construction and Dan Roling Construction, where his skilled hands left a lasting impression. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and collecting arrowheads. David found peace and contentment by the river, especially while spending time at the cabin. Whether it was woodworking, enjoying a cold beverage, or simply being surrounded by his family, David's heart was always full of gratitude for life's simple pleasures.
David is survived by his loving wife, Diane; his daughter, Samantha Berhorst (David); his sons, Bill Dudenhoeffer (VaLinda) and John Dudenhoeffer; his brother, Greg Dudenhoeffer (Susan); and his sisters, Leona Loethen, Lucille Lamb, and Rosemary Surface (Terry). He also leaves behind five grandchildren: Tyler Berhorst, Josh Berhorst, Allison Dudenhoeffer, Ivan Dudenhoeffer, and Trevor Dudenhoeffer.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and James Dudenhoeffer; his sister, Evelyn Dudenhoeffer; and his brothers-in-law, Jim Loethen and Dennis Lamb.
A man of great character and love, David will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 09:15 am to 10:00 am, at the Proto-Cathedral of St. Peter. A Memorial Mass will follow at 10:00 am officiated by Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki, VG. Inurnment will follow at Resurrection catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Proto-Cathedral of St. Peter.
May David rest in peace, knowing the legacy of his kindness, work ethic, and devotion will endure through all those who loved him.
