David Wayne Early passed away on March 10, 2026, in Oshkosh, WI, surrounded by family. He was born on September 14, 1951, in Abilene, TX, to parents, Audrey and Jannie (Petty) Early. David was raised mainly in Coahoma, TX then most of his adult life was spent in Big Spring. He married the love of his life, Karin Christenson in 1978. After retirement, David and Karin moved back to where she had roots in Oshkosh, WI, in 2013, to be closer to family and friends.
David worked for 40 years in the oil fields of Texas. He started from the bottom and worked his way up to be a Tool Pusher- top supervisor.
In his free time, he enjoyed hunting in Colorado, fishing, spending time at their lake cabin and watching the sunset in the evenings. He also loved to go on cruises, tend to the garden and was kind to animals- especially cats and dogs.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karin Early; brother, Johnny (Mariel) Early; brothers-in-law, George and Craig; sister-in-law, Kathy; mother-in-law, JoAnn; 5 nieces and nephews; and several other family members and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Audrey and Jannie (Petty) Early; brothers, Jim and Kenneth; and father-in-law, Donald.
Per his wishes, a private family gathering will be held.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to the Oshkosh Humane Society in his honor.
The family would like to thank the Bristol Hospice team, and the countless nurses and staff at Gabril's Villa, for all of their help during this difficult time.
