David Easterling (57) passed away on August 30th surrounded by his family. Dave is preceded in death by his brother Larry Pettit. He is survived by his parents, Betty and Bill Easterling of Nashville; wife, Mary Easterling and children, Emily and Hayden Easterling of Louisville; and sister, Teri Parks of Nashville.
Dave graduated from Brentwood High School in 1984 and the University of Tennessee in 1990. He has lived in Louisville with his family since 1998.
Dave was a classic entrepreneur. He started a software development company in 1998 which eventually became Number8 Consulting, with offices in Louisville, Costa Rica, and Honduras. This company brought many challenges, but also joy, pride, and great friendships. On the side, he revived Falls City Beer in 2008 and sold it in 2015. He was glad to continue to see the brand thrive. He began Oasis TMS in 2019 to help those struggling with anxiety and depression and saw it expand into 4 states. Over the years he was honored to be recognized by Louisville's Fast Dozen, Fast Fifty, and listed in the Inc 5000. He felt so lucky to love his staff in Louisville and throughout Central America. His success was owed to his unflagging ability to believe in himself and to the dedicated teams at Oasis and Number8 who helped make his dreams a reality.
Dave collected friends like he collected cars - many and varied, old and new, and with great passion! He was always eager to have an adventure with friends or help solve a problem they may have. He had a very clever sense of humor and shared many laughs over the years. Everyone that knew Dave heard about his love for the Packers, Kentucky basketball, Tennessee football, Cardinals baseball, golf, Democratic politics, music, TikTok, and classic cars. He remained curious throughout his life and often spent hours researching his sports team line-ups, cars to purchase or restore, and his favorite bands. He was so proud of his family, especially his children Emily and Hayden. He enjoyed hearing about their lives and successes, but most of all, he was so proud of the kind, capable adults they have become.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday September, 14th from 2-5pm at Owl Creek Country Club (12400 N. Osage Road in Anchorage) and Cars & Coffee on Sunday September, 15th from 10am-12pm (11420 Watterson Ct. Suite 1000; pull around back to the garage area). Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Teach Kentucky (teachkentucky.com), Louisville Public Media, or the Kentucky Humane Society.
