David Evans Obituary

David Wayne Evans

1954 - 2025

Sandy, UT-Dave is survived by his four children, his mother, his siblings, and his cherished grandchildren, along with a wide circle of friends who were drawn to his warmth, curiosity, and generous spirit.

Dave lived life guided by his own rhythm, dancing to a drum and flute uniquely his, quite literally ones he crafted with his own hands. He was an artist, and his legacy endures in the countless works he created and gifted. Dave loved the spirit of clay, blending it with his own spirit to make offerings of beauty, connection, and meaning. Always for those he loved, and almost as often for those he had only recently met.

Dave was a deeply sensitive and intuitive soul, someone who moved through the world guided more by feeling than force. He led with his heart, trusting his instincts and honoring what felt true rather than what was expected. Sentimental by nature, he held memories, people, and moments with great care, often expressing his love through quiet gestures, thoughtful creations, and meaningful presence. He had a way of inviting others to slow down, listen more closely, and connect more honestly.

In 2000, Dave founded HomeTek, a radon mitigation company, becoming the first radon mitigator in the Salt Lake Valley. Over the next two decades, he built a reputation for excellence, integrity, and deep expertise. By the time he retired in 2020, Dave was widely regarded as one of the most knowledgeable professionals in radon testing and mitigation in the region, having earned every certification available to him.

Dave held himself to exceptionally high standards, consistently using superior materials and methods to ensure the systems he installed were not only effective but built to last. More than anything, he believed people always came first. Clients felt this immediately, through his patience, his honesty, and his genuine care. He had a rare gift for balancing kindness with clarity, meeting even the most demanding situations with calm fairness, and gently, but firmly, standing up for what was reasonable and right.

In recent years, Dave found deep purpose in supporting local pollinators, especially the monarch butterfly. He created and lovingly tended a monarch butterfly waystation and nature preserve, offering refuge to these travelers on their long, delicate journey. This land, and the life it sustains, will be protected and maintained in his honor.

Dave's presence was unmistakable. Marked by his big heart, his creativity, and his long, bear hugs that made you feel truly seen. Those hugs will be forever missed by the many lives he touched. Please join us to celebrate his life as we come together to remember him, share stories, and be held in the warmth of the life he lived and the love he gave.

He was a deeply loving, creative, and generous soul, an artist, a steward of nature, and a man who lived guided by his heart.
He was the single most significant influence in my life. We shared a deep bond, knew many of each other´s secrets, and walked through life as trusted companions. His absence is deeply felt.
