David Evitts Obituary

Visit the Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel - Coffeyville website to view the full obituary.
David was born on October 30, 1942 and passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018. David was a resident of Coffeyville, Kansas at the time of passing. At a young age David's family moved to Coffeyville where he attended school and graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School. David's final wishes were for cremation to take place under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel of Coffeyville, and his remains to be scattered in a private service at one of his favorite places as a child. The family sees it only fitting for David's legacy to continue through donations that can be made in David's name to the AGMA Relief Fund American Guild of Musical Artist, 1430 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10018.

David was a dear friend and a wonderful, fun colleague with a gloriously beautiful voice. Because we are both KS natives, we felt especially close. My husband and I visited with him after he left NYC. Love you, David, and miss you every day. Condolences to your beloved siblings. Jeanie

I was the lady who drove David from his apartment in Manhattan to Kansas to go back home to his mom and brother in KS. His opera family loved David so much, they paid for his trip home, moving expenses and my flight back home once David was settled. I kept in touch with David for a few years after his retirement. A total gentleman who received his big break as the understudy for Pavarotti; as one night, Pavarotti was ill. The rest, as they say, is history.

David is very close to my heart. My memories of him go all the way back to high school and he also sang at my wedding. I have followed his wonderful career and know he will be missed by the many who knew and loved him.
