Mr. David Anthony Ewing, 27, passed away Friday, February 27, 2026, at Novant Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
A memorial service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Danny Benton will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to 2:45 pm Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home.
David was born on February 3, 1999, in Cabarrus County. He was a beloved son of Paul Anthony Ewing and Jody Lynn Troutman Stirewalt. He found peace and happiness in the outdoors, especially while fishing at High Rock Lake and at quiet ponds where he enjoyed casting for carp. David had a deep appreciation for nature and felt most at home beneath open skies and among the beauty of the natural world. Creative at heart, he also loved writing and singing music, expressing himself in ways that touched those around him. David had a wide-open spirit, being rambunctious, full of energy, and always needing to stay busy.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Boyd and Linda Ewing; paternal great grandmother, Rebecca Byrd (Joe); and maternal great grandmother, Clara Troutman (Frank); and a cousin, Ethan Troutman.
David is survived by his mother, Jody Troutman Stirewalt (Derek) of Kannapolis; father, Paul Anthony Ewing; fiancée, Ashley Allen; two brothers, Nickolas Ewing (Makenzie Allen) of Salisbury and Justin Ewing of Kannapolis; step-sister, Aleah Stirewalt of Kannapolis; nephew, Zander Ewing of Salisbury; maternal grandparents, Terry Troutman (Gina Morrison) of Kannapolis and Jean Troutman (Rick) of Concord; bonus grandparents, David and Lynne Childers of Concord; he is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
