David Faciana Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jardine Funeral Home, Inc. - Strongsville on Mar. 6, 2026.
David P. Faciana Sr. passed away on March 5, 2026, at the age of 75, in Strongsville, Ohio. Born on August 13, 1950, in Cleveland, Ohio, David's journey through life was marked by his passion for sports, his deep spirituality, and his love for his country.

David is survived by the mother of his 3 children, Cindy Faciana. David was a dedicated father to his children, Dave Faciana (Amanda), Michael Faciana, and Rachel Faciana (Amelia). His life was further enriched by his beloved partner, Carol Petrucelli, who became the best part of his later years, sharing in his joys and standing by his side through life's challenges. David was the son of the late Salvatore and Teresa Faciana and a brother to Donald Faciana (Patty) and Debbie Hercik (Jack). His role as a grandfather brought him immense joy, as he cherished every moment with his grandchildren, Alyssa and Dominic Faciana, Mya and Morgan Simmons, and Ava Faciana, and his great-grandchild, Damien Galvin.

David poured his heart into coaching hockey at University Schools where he became a respected figure on and off the ice. His dedication to coaching baseball and hockey was not just a profession but a calling, as he guided and inspired countless young athletes with his wisdom and enthusiasm for the game. David's love for sports was not limited to coaching; he was an avid player and a fervent spectator, finding joy and camaraderie in every match.

Beyond the sports field, David was a man of profound faith. His spirituality was a cornerstone of his life, and he found solace and strength in his church community. His pride in his Sicilian heritage was evident to all who knew him, often humorously symbolized by his personal stash of Romano cheese that he carried with him, a nod to his roots and the traditions he held dear.

David's patriotism was as much a part of him as his love for sports and his faith. A proud American, he wore his love for his country on his sleeve, instilling in his family and friends a sense of respect and appreciation for the freedoms they enjoyed.

As we remember David P. Faciana Sr., we reflect on a life lived with purpose and passion. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his influence will continue to be felt on the playing fields, in the pews, and in the laughter of his grandchildren.
