Inurnment will be at Cedar Park Memorial Park Cemetery.

He was born on May 29, 1937, in Kewanee, IL to Lewis and Kathryn (Brennan) Fischer.

David attended the University of Illinois, where he met his loving wife, Barbara. He was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering. David and Barbara were married June 25, 1960, in Clarendon Hills, IL. He worked for over 30 years at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids. His last role was as Vice-President of Operations.

He loved spending time with his family and friends. David loved to travel, especially with Barbara, and after she passed, with his wonderful friends and family. He made many trips abroad but especially loved Ireland and Europe. After retirement, David and Barbara enjoyed spending the winter months in Fort Myers Beach. They loved gathering with friends to watch the sunsets over the Gulf. David eventually lived there permanently. He loved golfing and fishing, whether trout fishing in Iowa, walleye fishing in Canada or fishing in the Gulf and bays surrounding Fort Myers Beach. David was loved by all.

David is survived by his four children, Kevin (Colleen) Fischer, Kathryn (Devon) Goetz, Tom (Elizabeth) Fischer and John (Jane) Fischer; grandchildren, Hannah (Ben) Roush, Katelyn Goetz (Alex Taylor), Kirsten (Chris) Dickinson, Caroline (Wade) Morris, Brennan (Rachel) Fischer, Maggie (Kyle) Ornce, Jack Fischer, Jacob (Megan) Goetz, Jeff Goetz (Kate Rogalski), Tom Fischer, Audrey (Seth) Mellon, David Fischer, Brian Fischer, John Fischer and Alison (Marc) Rose; and 14 loving great-grandchildren.
