David J. Frank, born on November 5th, 1950, peacefully passed away on November 5th, 2025, at Hillcrest Hospital.
For those who knew him, knew that David was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose love and humor touched all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, and his son Jeff (wife Gabby). David is preceded in death by his beloved daughter Laura. He was a proud grandfather to Dana Frank, Hazel Yankovic, and Olivia Allen.
David's parents, Ellis and Katherine Frank (both deceased), went through life graciously. Wanting a big family, they went on to raise seven children, David being the youngest. His siblings: Alfred Frank (deceased) (wife Pearl), Donald Frank (deceased) (wife Sandi), Thomas Frank (deceased) (wife Joan, deceased), Marilyn Eckroate (husband Walter, deceased), Donna Gill (husband Arden, deceased), and Joan Frank. In their young life, were raised on a farm located in Massillon, Ohio. Even though it's now gone, David enjoyed taking his family to the property and reminiscing about his upbringing with his mother, father, and siblings.
As a young man, he attended John Carroll University and graduated with a bachelor's and master's degree in 1973. Then, went on to have a long-lasting career with American Greetings. For those who don't know, David was a dedicated worker and very proud to have established the software for American Greetings scanning system which helped to digitalize, organize, and maintain better tracking information.
In his spare time, David very much enjoyed playing pool, working on and flying model airplanes, as well as spending time with his family and friends. He went on to win numerous pool tournaments/competitions, one in which he was rewarded with season tickets for the Browns. A close family friend recalls playing football at a local park nearby, basketball, and the card game Euchre with David and his family. As well as, going over to David and Nancy's house to swim and celebrate countless holidays. Our grandfather, the handyman, loved to take on new projects and/or tasks and would show the children around him how to safely use the tools he had available.
David's graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery 10000 Miles Ave. Cleveland at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 8th, 2025. Please use the main entrance off of Miles Ave. Following the burial, the Frank family will be hosting a luncheon at Vicchiarelli Funeral Home 5252 Mayfield Rd. Lyndhurst (between Richmond and Brainard). The family welcomes his friends and family to celebrate his life.
