Obituary for David A. Gonzales
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David A. Gonzales, who left us peacefully on November 22, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on March 23, 1959, in Monahans, Texas, David grew up in Imperial, Texas, a place that always held a special spot in his heart. Later, he made his home in Fort Stockton, where he continued his love for the great outdoors.
David was an avid outdoorsman, spending countless weekends fishing and camping in the breathtaking landscapes of Big Bend and Fort Davis. He had a real passion for history, particularly Native American history, and he loved nothing more than to share stories about it with those around him. David also had a lighthearted side, enjoying a cold beer while cheering on his favorite football team-the Dallas Cowboys.
He is survived by his beloved sister, Alicia Nieto, who will carry on his memory in her heart.
Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate David's life. A public viewing will be held at Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend Chapel on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The following day, we will honor him with a Mass at Saint Agnes Catholic Church at 10:00 AM, followed by a graveside service at Imperial Cemetery at 1:00 PM.
David touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed. Let's come together to remember the laughter, love, and the great outdoors he cherished so much.
