David Wayne Grant

David Wayne Grant, 67, of Upton, passed away Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, at his home.

Born in Upton, he spent most of his life there and in Millerstown. He likely pumped your gas or worked on your car at a local Chevron, or later, at his own Upton Auto Service. He worked several memorable years at the Walter T. Kelley Company in Clarkson and later in life spent time as a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Grant; his stepfather, Toodlum Crump; and a brother, Carl Heath.

Survivors include his mother, Shirley Crump of Bonnieville; a daughter, Amy Annette Grant of Cincinnati, Ohio, and her mother, Dorothy Grant of Millerstown. Also surviving are eight siblings, Mary McCandless, Gail Ryan, Bonnie Lynch, Connie Priddy, Tee Aikin, Jackie Heath, Willie Heath and Leon Bryant. His stepfather, Jack Heath, also survives.

You are encouraged to celebrate and remember him by taking a long ride on a motorcycle or putting on a pot of coffee, reading a bit from "Strange Stories, Amazing Facts," and listening to his least favorite song, Buck Owens' version of "Act Naturally."
