David Grovner Obituary
David Grovner Sr., 86, of St. Simons Island, died Tuesday.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

I am not 100% sure of this, but I think David was one of two boathands on a yacht by the name of Prudence B that was docked at the Golden Isles Marina and he and the other gentleman were assigned to keep up with four rambunctious young boys on an overnight trip to Cumberland Island. My friends--Harry Aiken, Jimmy Duncan and Mike Walsh--were the three other boys, one of which managed to shoot a hole through the top of the tent we were assigned to sleep in that night. I have remembered this all of my life and I am 75 years old now.
