David "Dave" Hager, 64, Minot, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Trinity Hospital.
David "Dave" Alan Hager was born September 23, 1960, the son of James and Leona (Boucher) Hager, in Minot, ND. He was raised and educated in Minot.
He was once married to Rochelle Hansen for a time and from this union they were blessed with two children, Lecia and Austin.
He was overjoyed to find out he was going to be a grandpa to a baby boy, Lukas who made his way into the world earlier this year. Although their time together was not long enough, their bond was surely special. Dave made a point to say "finally someone who might begin to understand why I do what I do" when first holding him.
He enjoyed lunch and movie outings with his son, family dinners at his daughter's home, working on home projects, making his own homemade cooking recipes, tinkering in the garage and going to the race track. What brought him the most joy was working on his 1972 Chevelle SS and 1970 Chevrolet el Camino.
Dave had a lifelong love for anything with an engine. His passion for mechanics started at the young age of 14. He traveled out of state with his best friend, Bill Gabel working in the oilfield industry for a time in Louisiana. Eventually returning to Minot to work with his father at Sinclair and then to K-Mart as a mechanic. He then later found his career at Ryan Chevrolet in 1997 where he worked until his passing.
His loving family includes:
children, Lecia (John) Lintvelt and Austin Hager (Jerica Hanson), all of Minot; grandson, Lukas Lintvelt; brothers, Andy Hager, Minot and James Hager, Jr., San Jose, CA; sister, Angela Hager, Minot; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kenneth, Leonard and Glen (Kristi) Hager.
