David Hansen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Divine Mercy Funeral Home - Fort Wayne on Jan. 8, 2025.
David "Dave" W. Hansen, 73, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at his home from natural causes.
He was born David Whizner Morgan on February 15, 1951, in Akron, OH to Eileen Ward and Harry W. Morgan. When his mother remarried to Joseph Donald Hansen, his last name changed, and the family moved to Fort Wayne in 1959.
He graduated from North Side High School in 1969 and received a nursing degree from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne. Dave then spent his entire career in healthcare as a Registered Nurse at Parkview Hospital and other organizations around metro Fort Wayne. He retired from the field in 2014 due to health complications.
Dave enjoyed music all his life and was honored to play guitar as a member of the band Clowns, a group that was popular in Ft. Wayne in the early 1970s. His passions included decorating for Christmas, gardening, and collecting vintage items.
He is survived by his life-long partner C. David Hoover; sister Chris Bloom and husband Dave; brother Paul Hansen and husband Kenyon Brown; brother Lawrence "Al" Hansen and wife Patricia; brother Donald Steven Hanson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by bothers Mark, Michael, and Robert. Following Dave's wishes, there will be no formal services. Arrangements were made at Divine Mercy Funeral Home-Cedar Canyons, 1986 W. Cedar Canyons Rd., Huntertown, IN 46748. Online condolences may be left at www.divinemercyfuneralhome.com.
