David Harold Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lauck & Veldhof Funeral and Cremation Services on Feb. 8, 2026.
David Knowles Harold, 94, passed away in his sleep, early Saturday morning. He had been surrounded with loved ones for the past several days.
Born in Indianapolis, St. Vincent hospital, on July 30, 1931, the son of Ritchie and Mary Ruth (Knowles). Harold was raised in Evansville, educated at Indiana University and the University of Evansville (class of 1954, Acacia Fraternity).
David worked for 60 years in his chosen profession of radio broadcasting. At middle age, while still involved in broadcasting, he discovered his passion for acting in community theatre productions, introduced to this craft by his new bride, Peggy. In 30+ years of walking the boards, Dave was honored with two Encore Awards for "best actor" and the highly coveted E. Edward Green Award for his dedication to the Indianapolis theatre community.
Mr. Harold was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Alma Ruth Hunt. He is survived by his beloved spouse and soulmate Margaret (Peggy) Arbuckle Harold, also a veteran of the Indianapolis community theatre scene.
Other survivors include his children, Terri Lynn Harold, David Michael Harold, Jon Richard Harold and Laura Susan Harold, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Dave will be cremated and a celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. Any memorial contributions should be made in Dave's name to your favorite community theatre organization.
