David Richard Harris passed away in the comfort of his home in Clinton, Utah, surrounded by his wife and children on November 26, 2025. He was born March 12, 1960, on Kindley Air Force Base in Bermuda, son of Shirley Jane Guenther and Norman Ellsworth Harris, and older brother of Dennis Robert Harris. He received a Bachelors of Science in soil conservation from Michigan Tech University in Houghton, Michigan, and met and married Cynthia Sue Ehinger on December 27, 1981, before serving for 5 years in the Coast Guard in Jonesport, Maine. He moved west, and worked for Utah State Parks for 32 years before retiring in 2023.
He is survived and missed by his wife, Cynthia, of 43 years and their ten children - Matthew D. Harris, Emily S. Harris, Bethany A. Jensen and her husband Darrell Isaac and their son James, Katie E. Bush and her husband Kyle and their sons Daniel, Austin, and Wyatt, Seth F. Harris, Anna L. Harris, Jenny L. Harris and her husband Kristoffer Goodnight, Maggie L. Harris, Sarah M. Harris, and Elise R. Archibald and her husband Jared.
Ever a dreamer, an adventurer, and a creator, David loved the Lord, he loved the woods and the mountains, and he loved his family. He was the best dad, husband, son, and brother, and will forever be in our hearts."
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Russon Mortuary, 1585 West 300 South, Syracuse, Utah, 84075. Friends and family may visit between 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., December 6, prior to the service.
