Dave Harrison, age 84, of Mount Juliet TN, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026. Dave was a proud father & grandfather known for his quiet strength, generous spirit, strong leadership and deep love of racing (anything with a motor!)

Dave was born on March 27, 1941, in Buffalo, NY to Lloyd and Dorothea Harrison. As an only child, he showed leadership at an early age and played all the major sports in school. He was the ringleader among his many friends while also befriending those who needed compassion, support and guidance. Dave credits his father Lloyd as being the example in his life for all these qualities. Dave was a risk taker, and his innate sense of humor kept his mother Dottie on guard.

Dave’s family moved to Daytona Beach FL after his junior year in high school. Here he witnessed the birth of NASCAR and participated in the world of auto racing. For many years he enjoyed driving an 18-wheeler truck across the country while learning the world of logistics. In Maryland, he served in the Air National Guard on a Grumman HU-16 Albatross.

Many people came into his life for a season and then life would shift again. Navigating his life with a sense of adventure he kept moving forward. All the souls he touched also touched his heart. His retelling of memories has been constant the last few years.

Dave worked for many years as Security Supervisor at OHL/Geodis Logistics in Mount Juliet TN (via several security companies). Known as “Captain Dave”, he was respected and loved by many. He was a Mason & Past Master of the Doric Lodge #732. Dave also volunteered at his church running the sound board and as a member of the choir. His varied passions included ballroom dancing, acting in plays for children, and energy healing.

David Harrison is survived by his life partner of 20 years, Valerie Dennison, his daughter Jennifer Ericksen and grandson Stephen Berndt.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11:30am – 1:30p at the Keeton Theater (inside Fifty Forward) at 108 Donelson Pike, Nashville TN 37214.

Please be with us to celebrate the many ways Dave touched our lives. Through your presence we will know him just that bit more. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Dave Harrison's name to his spiritual home, Many Paths Spiritual Center (https://manypathsspiritualcenter.org/).
