Dave enjoyed family time at the Holland State Park on Sunday nights. We enjoyed talking to his family there. RIP. Job well done, good and faithful servant.

Take care to the Haverdink family. I worked with Dave and I respected him very much. I would be at the funeral but I have an upper respiratory infection and the coughing would take away from the funeral please take care what a huge loss. Battalion chief Rantz Plainwell Public safety.

I worked with him, he was a great man.The best in Allegan County.

It was an honor and a privilege to work alongside Chief Haverdink for nearly ten years. I learned so much from him, and he always found a way to make me laugh. I have many wonderful photos and videos of him that I will share with the family. He will be deeply missed by so many, yet never forgotten. He was an exceptional public servant who set a remarkably high standard for the rest of us to strive toward. I will especially miss capturing the friendship and bond he shared with our Chief Janik in Saugatuck. We will all miss him dearly!

This man was a good cop. Way back in 1996, I was in a head on collision on A37, a woman was passing in a no passing zone and I was miraculously unharmed. I was pregnant at the time, very shaken upset in shock and he took the time to get me water , he waited with me until my husband came to pick me up, he checked up on me a week later. I'm very sorry for your loss and I thank you for sharing him with us.
