David McCord Haynes, age 81, passed away peacefully at his home in Verona with his daughter and his wife by his side on Friday, February 6th, 2026.

He was born September 13th, 1944, in Bedford County, Tennessee, to the late Clyde Peril and Zelma Perryman Haynes. He was a retired Electrician/Industrial Maintenance engineer for Kantus and Walker Die Casting and was a member of Berea Church of Christ. He was a proud Marine serving his country from February 11, 1963, until February 10, 1967, with a rank of Sgt. E5. He was a disabled Vietnam veteran and enjoyed beekeeping and farming.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three grandchildren, Rebekah Lynn Haynes, Ava Claire Haynes, and Addison Grace Haynes.

He is survived by his wife of 58 1/2 years, Judy Church Haynes, one daughter, Sheila (David) Hickman of the Verona Community, three sons, Mark (Mary) Haynes of Ethridge, Nathan (Susan) Haynes of Cornersville, Joseph (Melissa) Haynes of Laws Hill, ten grandchildren and eight grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be held at London Funeral Home and Crematory, 324 W. Church St., Lewisburg, TN, on Monday, February 9th, 2026, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and will continue on Tuesday, February 10th, 2026, at 10:00 am at the Berea Church of Christ until the funeral hour.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 10th, 2026, at 11:00 am from the Berea Church of Christ with burial to follow in Berea Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
