David Heil Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home & Crematory on Dec. 2, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David George Heil, who left us on November 28, 2025, his 64th birthday, in his home in Harrison, Ohio. Born on November 28, 1961, in Cincinnati, Ohio, David was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a doting grandfather. He will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

A dedicated engineer in the plastic molding industry, David worked at PMC and Valeo where he was known for his innovative spirit and commitment to excellence. However, it was David's rich life outside of work that truly defined him. He and his high school sweetheart, Mary, shared 45 wonderful years of marriage filled with love and adventure. Together, they created a beautiful family that includes their daughter, Erica (Michael) Fleischman, their son, Ryan (Katy) Heil, and their beloved grandchild, Elise Fleischman.

David loved to travel and eagerly explored international destinations like Japan and China, not to mention the 23 cruises he enjoyed throughout his life. The ocean, with its white sands and calming waves in Destin, Florida, held a special place in his heart. His adventurous spirit also drew him to explore caves wherever he traveled.

A man of many passions, David had a knack for home improvement projects and took great joy in nurturing his home and helping those in need. His love for cooking was evident in his famed collard greens, hot slaw, gizzards, and beloved shortbread cookies and buttermilk pie. David was happiest surrounded by family, sharing a meal, and enjoying lively conversations-a favorite pastime that often included his love for good buffets.

With a gentle demeanor, David was the quiet, patient rock of the family, always able to calm the atmosphere around him. He cherished the time spent with his grandchild and loved animals, particularly dogs and cats. His cherished Pomeranian, Muffin, was a constant companion during his upbringing which brought him immense joy.

A member of Vineyard Cincinnati, David enjoyed the fellowship he found in his community. His favorite movies were Home Alone and Office Space.

David leaves behind his beloved wife Mary, daughter Erica, son Ryan, granddaughter Elise, brother Ron, sister Diane, and brother John-each of whom will carry his spirit forward in their hearts.

David was preceded in death by his parents, George and Dorothy Heil, and his granddaughter, Emma.

In celebration of David's life, a Visitation will take place on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 12:30 PM, with a Service at 1:30 PM, at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231 (follow the blue line upon entering the memorial park). The Graveside Service will immediately follow in the Garden of Trinity.

As we come together to honor David's life and legacy, let us remember him not in sadness, but in celebration of the love he gave and the joyful experiences he shared with us all. Rest in peace, David. Your warmth and kindness will be profoundly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites memorial contributions to The Healing Center, 11345 Century Circle W., Cincinnati, OH 45246, a place where Dave had hoped to volunteer but never got the chance. I had the opportunity to work with Dave for more than 35 years at both PMC and Valeo. Dave was the brain, heart and soul of our Tooling Team! Traveling throughout Asia, Europe and North America, we build a great supplier panel and delivered many successful projects. Dave taught me so much about Injection Molding. Though Dave's highest priority was his loving family which he spoke of often and shared so many wonderful stories. Thank you for everything, my friend, you will be missed and never forgotten!!!

Dave was taken way too early. I miss our conversations about work, travel and most importantly our families. We spent over 36 years working side by side, he was the calm to my not so calm. God Bless the Heil family,
