David Michael Henderson

Wow in this process of sending David's mortal body onto heaven, I am told by the funeral director that I will have to write an obituary about his life. I immediately panicked and think, there isn't enough space in the obit to write everything there is to say about him. Then I realize that these will be the last immortalized words for David to be seen by anyone that is looking to find out more about his passing. These obituaries are FOREVER.
I'm by no means any type of writer but feel the need to have some type of personality that is felt in my written words about him because his personality was LARGER THAN LIFE and HE LOVED LIFE. David Henderson, my brother has traveled across the US two times by himself, meeting strangers who immediately became lasting friends. David made friends wherever he went and was the bright light when he walked into a room.
He was born in Hamilton, Ontario Canada while our father, John (Jack) Russell Henderson was finishing his PhD degree. Our father Jack, passed away at an early age of 60 from cancer. Our mother, Timea Vassady Henderson who has been David's best friend and second mom to so many of David's friends still lives in the Atlanta area just 2 miles away from David. She will soon be relocated to live with me, Julie Henderson Wenger, David's sister. Filling David's shoes to give our mother more wonderful years on this earth will be difficult, but I'm going to do my best to be like him. I'm sure our new normal without David will be a tough one but we will be together and learning how to move forward.
