David Scott Herald, 64, of Poland, Indiana, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026. David was born on November 7, 1961, to Kenneth and Wanda Herald in Franklin, Indiana.

David was a loving husband, devoted son, cherished brother, proud father, and loyal friend to many. His kindness, steady presence, and generous heart touched all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by everyone whose life he brightened.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Lee Herald, who stood by his side in love and partnership. He also leaves behind his mother, Wanda Lee Carter, whose love and guidance shaped the man he became.

He will be fondly remembered by his brothers, Mark and John Herald, and his sister, Amy Morgan, who shared with him a lifetime of memories, laughter, and family bonds.

He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Herald; brother, Steven Luke Herald; and sister, Sandra Stoleworthy.

David was a proud father to his son, Josh Herald, and a caring stepfather to his stepdaughter, Stephanie Boles, and his six stepsons: James Boles, Eric McFarland, Shannon McFarland, John McFarland, Tyler McFarland, and Joseph McFarland. His love for his children was steadfast and unconditional, and he took great pride in each of them.

He was also blessed with 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and whose lives will forever carry his legacy of love, strength, and compassion.

David will be remembered for his warm spirit, his unwavering dedication to his family, and the countless ways he showed up for those he loved. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
