Hersh, a beloved son, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away on February 24, 2026, in Edgewood, Kentucky, at the age of 66. Born on January 12, 1960, in Cincinnati, Ohio, David spent his life engaging with his community through various service-oriented roles, including his meaningful contributions at organizations such as the Salvation Army and Erlanger EMS. He dedicated five years of his life serving as a constable in Kenton County, where he was known for his commitment to public service.
In his younger years, David pursued his passion for entertainment as a professional WWE wrestler. This career exemplified his vibrant and engaging personality, renowned for its natural sarcasm and humor. David's laughter and lighthearted spirit touched the lives of many, making him a cherished figure among family and friends.
David had a variety of interests that brought him joy, including traveling, following NASCAR, and supporting his favorite football team, the Miami Dolphins. A gun enthusiast, he found pleasure in exploring the outdoors and engaging in activities that ignited his adventurous spirit.
He took immense pride in his family, calling his proudest accomplishments those that revolved around his cat, Mack, and his cherished grandchildren: Ashley Kendall, Andrew Kendall, Bryson Wade, Hailey Kendall, Dominic Simpson, Emma Sowder, Thomas Dennis, Riley Dennis and Gavin Simpson. David is survived by his mother, Sylvia Nathan (nee Brisker); his daughter, Shannon (Christopher) Potter; his sons, James Simpson and David Hersh; his daughter, Rebecca Hersh; his sister, Nancy (Brian) Sweeney; and his brother, Robert (Karen) Nathan. He also leaves behind a great-grandchild, Ja'lani Kendall, and another great-grandchild, Camiya Kendall, along with a host of other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
David was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Hersh; his step-father, Jack Nathan; and his grandchild, Damien Hersh.
In honoring his memory, family and friends are invited to a visitation on March 6, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at Newcomer Funeral Home in Northern Kentucky, located at 4350 Dixie Hwy, Erlanger, Kentucky, 41018.
David A. Hersh leaves behind a legacy filled with laughter, love, and a profound impact on the lives of all who knew him. He will be remembered as a man of service, humor, and unwavering dedication to his family.
