David was truly a remarkable person. I would describe him using the three C's - considerate, cordial, and comforting. These qualities really highlight the positive impact he had on those around him. It's always difficult to lose someone who brought so much kindness and warmth into this world. You could talk to David just about anything for hours; he had a plethora of knowledge. Your smile will be truly missed, David!

Shortly after I joined Blue Origin, Dave was assigned as my 'mentor'. This was a formal designation for the role he fulfilled with newer engineers anyway. He always found time to answer questions, give a short advise or bring a new perspective to a discussion. During group meetings he didn't shy away from asking questions that were of interest to others. He had soft demeanor that made it easy to talk to him about any topic. I remember one conversation we had turned from technical details to old European history and Dave clearly had knowledge of it and expressed his opinion. It's rare to meet people who can talk talk about anything. I will miss our conversations.
