David Leon Hinson

I was absolutely shocked and deeply saddened to learn of Mr. Hinson's passing today. He was my 4th grade teacher at Flowertown Elementary from 2000-2001. One of my three favorite elementary school teachers. On the last day of school he brought his drumset and played because I reminded him he said he'd do that on the last day. I will miss him dearly and always carry his memory in my heart. My thoughts are with his family.

I send condolences to David's family. David was our drummer in our1960's high school band. He was Excellent, even then. A true professional even at that age. I am so sorry to see he went home so young but so glad to know of his salvation.

Cathy, Meredith and family- We are so sorry to hear about David. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I grew up with David, and his brother, Gary, at Second Presbyterian Church, and St. Andrews High School. David was my "big brother," very protective of who I went out with, etc. We had some crazy times double dating with my friend Susie. We also had fun in the church youth group and choir. He was so funny, and had the best laugh! David was a wonderful musician, with so much talent. So sad that I did not get to see him in the last 30 years or so.

David was a kind, compassionate friend who was such an integral part of both our church and Cursillo family. He will be greatly missed.

I have wonderful, fond memories of growing up in 2nd Presbyterian with David. He always had a smile and kind words to say. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing but know is happy to be reunited with his family members. I am sure he will be playing beautiful music in heaven!

David will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. We called him friend and brother in Christ. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I was so sorry to hear this news. I have many wonderful memories of the years David and I taught together at Newington. He was a man of many talents. He has now traded in the many hats he wore for a crown ,of this , I am quite sure. May Cathy and their daughter feel the loving arms of God holding them close in the coming days , months and years.I will carry them in my heart praying they will find comfort in the memories of the life they shared with a man who carried such a beautiful soul. Rest easy , David. Rest easy.

I worked with David at FES . He was an amazing, kind, caring, talented man. I loved working with him and laughing with him. I remember wonderful times. I will miss him. Rest in peace . Love ya
