I had 2 fun memories of Dave. One was one "black banana" Dave had everyday. Dave told me then that black bananas were still good for our hearts. The second one was on his first business trip to China for fear of not knowing what he was offered at dinners, he wants a Chinese translation of "I do not eat dogs" from me, so he could show it to the host. My fun memories were not just conversations with him but also for me learning about coke ocean shipping as well as knowledge of coke itself. After retirement, we have kept in touch with Christmas cards and letters for years. Linda, Jerry and I have truly enjoyed reading those letters about what Dave was doing and your fascinating trips. We'll be missing Dave in your Christmas letter this year, but the fun memories of him will not fade away. With our deepest condolences to you and your family! Dana Johnson

I worked with him at U S Steel Mining Company in Pittsburgh , and thanks to Dave they were some of the best years in my career. He was a brilliant professional but with a sense of humor second to none! May he rest in peace
