David Isom, age 62 of Grosse Ile, Michigan passed away on January 16, 2024.
David was born on November 23, 1961 in Indianapolis, Indiana to his parents Barbara (née Murawski) and John Richard Isom.
He is the beloved and devoted husband of Alisa and former spouse Suzanne (Daniel) Kubiak-Karrick and mother of his daughter Kaitlyn Isom (Kyle). He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his mother Barbara Clemens; his siblings, John (Jan) Isom, Peggy Green (Eric) and Tom (Jennifer) Isom and nephew and niece Spencer Isom and Shelby Isom.
David had a very successful thirty-eight year career at Continental and United Airlines. He loved his job and his co-workers loved working with him. His retirement time allowed him to enjoy his new 34’ Sea Ray boat which he named the “Dirty Oar”. When he was out cruising on the water, the “Dirty Oar” provided a great escape from any stresses of daily life where he could connect with nature, enjoying the company of old and new friends.
When he was not boating in the fall and winter seasons, he would follow his beloved Detroit Lions football and Detroit Red Wings hockey. Watching his favorite teams play provided a sense of community while enjoying the entertainment, action and excitement of the games. Winter was especially a fun time where David and his daughter Kaitlyn would go skiing whenever “weather permitted” (as he would say).
David will be missed and forever remembered for the everlasting impact he had on his family, friends and all those whose life was touched by his easy-going, caring and thoughtful nature, and especially his humor.
