David Michael Jarboe, Jr., 23, of Owensboro, KY went to the Lord Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Daviess County on July 9, 1987 to David and Karen Hayden Jarboe. He was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church.
David was a 2006 graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School and continued his education at St. John Vianney College Seminary, located at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. He later transferred to Western Kentucky University to complete his education. David was currently serving as an intern with Northwestern Mutual.
During his years at OCHS, which he considered among the happiest of his life, he played linebacker for the ACES football team. He was part of 2004 and 2005 state runners-up, earning the Kentucky High School Athletic Association's sportsmanship award and the OCHS St. Ignatius of Loyola award for displaying Christian values. He continued his love and passion for football during his freshman year at the University of St. Thomas.
David had the wonderful ability to make people laugh. From his impersonations to his jokes, he had a fun-loving way of sharing his contagious smile with all those he met. David was known for "Dancing like No one is Watching" and for his avid love for UK basketball. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family at the beach, summers at Rough River, playing the guitar and spending time with "the Crew". David dearly loves his "Brothers", Ben, Brian, and Adam Young and found great happiness with his girlfriend Julie O'Bryan.
David devoted himself for many years to being a summer camp counselor at Camp Marc, a camp for special needs individuals.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, C.V. and Ruth Fountain Jarboe, and Russell A. Hayden.
Surviving are his loving parents, David and Karen Hayden Jarboe; his sisters Beth (Ryan) Coyne, Lisa (David) Higdon, Sarah (Craig) Thomas; his grandmother, Margie Hayden, his aunts and uncles Vickie (Chris) Warren, Jill (Kenny) Young, Cheri (Phil) Hayden, Russ (Vicki) Hayden, Steve (Kristie) Hayden, and John (Mary Margaret) Hayden, all of Owensboro; Donna (Gary) Thompson of Waddy, KY, Barbara (Max) Omar of Paris, TN, and Connie Simon, of Bridgeport, CT; his nephew Vince Coyne; numerous cousins, and his dog Max.
