David Michael Jobes, 63, of Barrington, passed away on July 6, 2024. He was born in Norfolk, VA, to David G. and Maureen E. (née Fennerty) Jobes on December 11, 1960.
David will be greatly missed by his wife of nearly 30 years, Denise (Van Vliet); his children, Connor and Lilly Jobes; and his siblings, Kelly (Brian) Lawyer, Jamie (Dawn) Jobes, and Brian (Lisa) Jobes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Maureen Jobes, and his father and mother-in-law, Hazen and Beatrice Van Vliet.
Family was the most important part of his life, and he always prioritized spending quality time with Denise and the kids. David loved to travel, with his favorite spot being Spider Lake in Traverse City, MI, where he cherished many family vacations. An avid Cubs fan, he also had a passion for fishing and enjoyed it in any location, finding peace and joy in the activity. David also had a green thumb and took pride in his gardening, creating a beautiful and serene environment at home. Christmas was a special time for him, filled with joy and festive decorations. His love for animals was evident in the care he gave to his dog, Bella, and his two cats, Indie and Snow. They brought him constant comfort and laughter.
David was an outgoing, visionary leader and the driving force behind his company, Motivation Excellence, Inc.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 11, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Friday, July 12, from 11 a.m. until a service at 12 p.m. A private burial will follow at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Heartland Animal Shelter.
