David Johnson Obituary

Born in Lancaster, SC, he was the son of the late James and Evangeline McAteer Johnson.
David was an avid hunter and fisherman, finding joy in the sport and nature's beauty. He always found time to connect with others, as he never met a stranger, and his warm and welcoming nature endeared him to all who crossed his path. Above all, he loved and cherished spending time with his family. His genuine kindness and adventurous spirit will be fondly remembered by all and he will be deeply missed.
His legacy lives on through his wife, Debbie; son, David Michael Johnson; grandsons, D.J. and Austin James Johnson; sisters, Christine Burrell, Jerri Head, Irene Wilden, Jackie Dressner (his baby sister), and Shirley Raffaldt; nephews, Joey Dressner, and Sammy Head; nieces, Tonya Loftis, Leslie Shepherd, and Nikki Marie; and brother-in-law, Jack Blakley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Johnson.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 18, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest followed by the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Animal Rescue Fund, 10445 Clemson Blvd, Seneca, SC 29678.

I first met David in the mid 80´s through our employer´s. Later on it turned out that we would be neighbors for a few years on the lake. I always enjoyed David and Debbie´s company and hospitality, just sitting around talking and laughing. He loved the lake and the outdoors! My heart felt Prayer´s go out to the family.
