David Johnson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Flanigan Funeral Home & Crematory on Dec. 24, 2025.
David Howard Johnson, age 46, passed away peacefully at home on December 23, 2025, after an incredibly short fight with esophageal cancer. He was born on March 4, 1979, in Greenville, SC, and lived a bucket-list life anchored in his deep faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

David was a committed husband, a loving father, and an incredible friend-greatly loved by many. He had a gift for making others feel seen, supported, and valued. His loyalty, kindness, and genuine care created lasting bonds, and his friendships were true evidence of his gift for simply being a great friend.

Professionally, David spent a lifetime in sales. He sold books and Bibles as well as advertising in print and digital media, radio, and podcasts. He served his longest stent in the out-of-home (billboard) market for over 15 years, working in various capacities and earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike through growing relationships. He believed relationships were the foundation to good business. In most recent years, he founded Grace Media Partners, a reflection of both his entrepreneurial spirit and his heart for helping others. Through this work, David was passionate about supporting small businesses and nonprofit organizations, helping them share their stories through meaningful marketing and messaging.

Ever a devoted sports fan, David had an extreme love for Clemson football (Go Tigers!) and the Atlanta Braves. He could honestly find enjoyment in just about any sport he had the chance to watch (including rugby during the Covid-era). Whether cheering on his favorite team, introducing his sons to the game, or simply appreciating the event, sports brought him joy and were often a way he connected with family and friends.

David is survived by his parents, his wife, Tamara, and his two children, Daniel and Micah. His lasting legacy is carried forward through the values he imparted, the love he gave freely, and the faith he lived out.

Those who knew David will remember his big hugs, his unwavering spirit, and his inability to accept the word "no." While his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace and in the presence of the God and Savior he faithfully served.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Celebration Church, 5560 Thompson Mill Road, Hoschton, GA 30548.
