David John Jolly, age 59, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, passed away in an accident on August 11, 2024. Dave was born in Flint/Grand Blanc, Michigan, to parents Mary Jo Jolly, now deceased, a skilled and highly respected teacher of English As a Second Language, and father, James Jolly, an engineer, teacher and IBM marketeer. David was a graduate of Grand Blanc High School and Michigan State University, where he majored in economics.
After graduation, David lived in Colorado and Florida, always seeking adventure, even taking time to sail with his father visiting countries such as Belize and Cuba. David returned to Colorado embarking on a successful financial services career, in which he earned numerous certification and awards.
David met his future wife, Sandra Cleret Guevara Matamoros, in Honduras where she was born and raised. In 2001 he brought Sandra, the love of his life , to Colorado where they married and embarked upon a beautiful life together, raising three children, Emilia, Matthew and Andrew, who even to this day brought inexpressible joy to Dave and Sandra’s life. Ever busy raising their family, Dave supported Sandra's endeavor to become a Registered Nurse.
A lifelong athlete, Dave participated in diving, tennis, golf, and bicycling. Dave also enjoyed traveling with Sandra; their bicycle rides, walks and hikes enjoying Colorado’s natural beauty; the wildlife which David loved never escaped his eye.
After retirement, Dave provided encouragement to his children’s athletic endeavors, including several seasons of coaching baseball, bringing players, Matthew and Andrew, to exceptional prowess. Emilia, became an outstanding gymnast, in part because David, year after year, made sure to never miss a single meet.
Dave had a ready smile, a gift for bringing happiness to people, and a warm personality reflecting his unbridled enthusiasm. People frequently commented on how much they enjoyed being with him at various social events, sporting events, and golf rounds. He was a welcome addition to any gathering.
David is survived by his wife Sandra Jolly, their three children Emilia, Matthew, and Andrew Jolly, his father Jim Jolly, his brother Brad Jolly (wife Kelly), his sister Laura Jolly, and several Nieces and Nephews who adored their Uncle, Cousins, in-laws, Aunts and Uncles and many, many friends.
