David C Kanouff

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of David C. Kanouff, 68, Gas Center, who departed this world on March 13, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. David's journey began on July 1, 1957, in Indiana, PA the son of the late David S. and Anna (Goldberg) Kanouff, and he spent his life surrounded by the love of family and friends.

David was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Kathy Lichtenfels, and a dedicated father to his children: Adam Kanouff and wife Melissa, Anthony Kanouff and wife Dana, and Angela Szentmiklosi and husband Andy. Kathy Jo Bowers and husband Dusty, Tami Jo Brown and husband Damion, and Tina Lichtenfels. Dave is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren who he loved dearly. Sister Theresa Reinard and husband Jeff along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and his many close friends.

David's life was a testament to the values of hard work, love, and dedication during his 25 years with the Homer City Police Department. He also worked as a coal miner. Dave enjoyed playing the drum with several area bands, riding his motorcycle, and was an avid hunter. He faced life's challenges with grace and resilience, leaving behind fond memories that will be forever cherished by his family and friends.

Friends received 2 PM until time of service 6 PM Sunday at the Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, 392 E. Philadelphia St., Armagh. Future private interment Armagh Cemetery. David's legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
