David Kapusta

1934 – 2023 David Kapusta peacefully passed away in his sleep Sunday, March the 5th 2023. Dave was born in Redding, CA and raised in Anderson, CA. In 1953 he joined the US Air Force where he was a mechanic for our B47 bombers. This same year he married his lifelong love Barbara Bower. After military retirement, the lovely couple raised their two daughters Patti and Laura. Dave attended and graduated from Sacramento State College and began his professional career as a purchasing agent for Guy F Atkinson construction. The construction industry took the family on a true California adventure visiting Oroville, Turlock, San Luis Obispo, San Bruno with his last assignment, Moses Lake, Washington. Dave and Barbara returned to Redding in 1978 and began their business, Kapusta Sand and Gravel. He retired in 1990. He enjoyed fishing at Shasta and Lewiston Lake, camping at Eagle Lake, he was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed sharing all of his adventures with family and friends. Surviving are his daughters Patti Kapusta (Rich) of Napa, CA, Laura Givens (Andy) of Redding, CA and grandsons Kyle and Brian Givens, great grand-daughter Scarlett. Dave will be buried with full military honors at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Igo, CA Thursday, March 30th at 2:00.
