Dr. David Robert Kassing passed away in a tragic car accident on September 8, 2012 at the age of 51. He was born at Fort Riley, Kansas on March 22, 1961 to Troy and Bob Kassing. After graduating from Brebeuf High School in 1979, David attended Denison University. He graduated in 1983 with a degree in Economics, having studied a semester at the London School of Economics. He then shifted course, not wanting a career in business, and went on to receive his medical degree from Indiana University in 1991. David spent his entire career with Northside Anesthesia at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis. David was devoted to God, his wife, children and family. Mission trips to Africa, teaching children's Bible study at Lifepointe Church, music, cars, and a love for the great outdoors were additional passions. He will be remembered for his zest for life, sense of humor, selflessness, love of others and always going above and beyond. David centered his life on others, not only those closest and dearest to him, but also those he happened to meet along the way. David is survived by his loving wife Sherry (Baker), their 4 year old twins, Luke and Sophia, his sons Jordan and Matthew, his parents Troy and Bob, his sisters Lynne Lundy and Susan Sveen, his father and mother-in- law, Junior and Sharon Baker, and his nieces and nephews Kirsten, Carter, Madison, Erik, Eric, Jordan and Jimmy. A celebration of David's life will be held on Saturday, September 15 at 11 AM at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 1402 W. Main Street, Carmel, IN. Visitation will be on Friday, September 14 from 3-8 PM at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, and also from 10 AM until service time on Saturday at the church. Entombment will be at Hamilton Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Ministries for Children at Lifepointe Church, 12770 Hamilton Crossing Blvd., Carmel, IN 46032. Help us keep David's memory alive for his children. Please contribute your favorite memory, pictures, stories, or thoughts by visiting Flanner and Buchanan's permanent website for David at www.flannerbuchanan.tributes.com/show/David-Kassing-94392889. This will be downloaded into a book for the children. It will serve as a constant reminder of what a wonderful, incredible man their father was. Dear Kassing family. It is Aug 10 2016! When I moved away from Carmel David had just married Sherry and of course we have all lost connection over the time. Today I needed to speak with David and this is what I found. I am very shocked and cannot even believe my eyes an ears. David was so good to me and my family. He always had a smile. I have so many good memories of The Kassing family. I am so very sorry to hear about the lost of David Kassing! RIP my good friend

Praying for you and your family! Dr. Kassing worked with my sister at St. V. and was very respected by her. When my mom had surgery, my sister requested him for my mother so I had the opportunity to meet him. He was such a kind loving man. I'll never forget him taking my mom's hand and being so tender towards her! I praise God for his life!

Sherry I know that no words will help in your time of sorry. David was a very sweet person and caring person. He always took care of my children when having surgery. I never worried about them when I knew David was there with them. I hope your children know how special their father was to all of us. He will be missed dearly. Love you always and you are in our prayers.
